World Smile Day - Books that made me smile
October 6th, 2022 is World Smile Day! So, I wanted to share some books that made me smile in case you wanted to grab them to spend the day with whenever you need a pick-me-up.
Also, let's chat in the comments--what's made you smile recently?
1. Tristan Strong Punches a Hole in the Sky by Kwame Mbalia
Thinking of Gum Baby's shenanigans always makes me chuckle. I really need to finish this trilogy.
2. As the Lemon Trees Grow by Zoulfa Katouh
This was such a heartbreaking story, but there were so many teeth-achingly sweet moments between Salama and Kenan that I couldn't help smiling and squealing. As a Muslim woman, I need more stories like this one, showing Muslim love in a way that aligns with our religion's values and beliefs. #HalalLove
3. Speak: Find Your Voice, Trust Your Gut, and Get From Where You Are to Where You Want to Be by Tunde Oyeneyin
Tunde is so personable! She's like your funny friend who always makes you feel so damn good within a five minute conversation in their presence.
Remember to smile!
