    The founder of Tuma's Books, Fatuma Hydara, is a Black, Muslim, First Generation, Gambian-American Woman committed to diverse reading and equity. She was an English educator for 10+ years and currently works at NYPL.

    We support literacy initiatives and increase access to BIPOC books in communities of color through our Free Diverse Book Program. We also support educators and nonprofit organizations by helping them curate titles, offer bulk discounts, and more.
