Harlem Bazaar

Harlem Bazaar is returning to the heart of Harlem for its second season, after receiving an overwhelming public demand. This open-air concept aims to spotlight Uptown's creators, designers, inventors, artists, and visionaries. Held the first Sunday of the month, the event series features a carefully curated selection of local merchandise, apparel, arts & crafts, hand-crafted items, packaged goods, food, and beverage vendors. In addition, the Harlem Bazaar features live music, dance, and theater performances, adding a unique touch to the local market event. Come and experience Harlem's culture, community, and creativity in one of the most vibrant neighborhoods of New York City.

Schomburg Center Literary Festival

Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture is one of the world’s leading cultural institutions devoted to the research, preservation, and exhibition of materials focused on African American, African Diaspora, and African experiences.

The Schomburg Center Literary Festival: Reading the African Diaspora extends our engagement with authors of African descent and champions literacy and books across genres to amplify Black history and culture. Festival programming features some of the most talented writers and influential figures in culture today. The festival is built on the foundation created by Arturo Schomburg–encouraging freedom of thought, the relentless pursuit of Black history, and the engagement of our imagination towards our collective freedom.

Harlem Book Fair

The Harlem Book Fair will celebrate its 25th year with a two-day celebration. On Friday, September 22, 2023, the Black Authors Hall of Fame (BAHOF.org) Inaugural Induction Ceremony will serve as the opening event of the 25th anniversary year celebration. The 25th Harlem Book Fair will take place on Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on the Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. Plaza of the Harlem State Office Building on West 125th Street in Harlem, New York.

The Brooklyn Book Festival is committed to presenting a major literary festival, free-to-the-public, that reflects the city’s dynamic, cross-cultural book readers and literary community. When the Festival began in 2006, we established our credo “hip, smart, diverse.” Those words are part of our mission statement and guide us each year in creating a festival that is forward thinking and inclusive.
