Tuma Rant: Review of The Heartstopper series by Alice Oseman

Fatuma Hydara
Heartstopper by Alice Oseman, Tuma's Books ReviewThe Story: Charlie is only openly gay boy at his school. He becomes friends with his seemingly straight classmate Nick, who is also part of the Rugby team. As they become closer, they come to terms with their feelings with one another.

Tuma Rant: This series is sooooo friggin adorable! Like, it's me, my Kindle, and squealing and flailing nonstop as I read each volume. It's no wonder everyone seems to love this. Charlie and Nick are so damn cute and you can't help but fall instantly in love with them. I just want to squish the heck out of them! BUT, this series isn't just fluff! While there are fun, heartwarming moments that make me chuckle, the characters also deal with real shit in terms of coming out, homophobia from family and peers, bullying, eating discovers, anxiety, etc. I'm low-key upset that I waited this long to read this series and can't wait for the final Volume #5. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys gushy, heartfelt YA Queer Romance. 💜
